Baseball Recap: Pleasant Takes a Loss

Pleasant lost against Shelby back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Whippets.

Trent Caudill and Camden Queen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Caudill went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Queen went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Avery Hamper was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Pleasant has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Shelby, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Pleasant will venture away from home to take on Cardington-Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shelby, they will welcome Madison Comprehensive at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Whippets are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
