Softball Recap: Saluda Extends Winning Streak to Six

Saluda came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Barnwell Warhorses by a score of 8-3. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 victory the Warhorses walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2018.

Kylee McGlohorn tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Kamryn Campbell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

Saluda's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Barnwell, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Saluda has already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Pelion on the 21st. As for Barnwell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-1 victory against Bridges Prep on the 21st.
