Volleyball Recap: New Diana Falls Despite Big Games from Gaby Martinez and Ava Smith

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. New Diana fell 2-0 to Lindale. New Diana's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Ava Smith and Gaby Martinez certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Smith had ten assists and three digs, while Martinez had five kills and three digs. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last four games she's played.

New Diana's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Lindale, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

New Diana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Gilmer on the 4th. As for Lindale, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against North Lamar on the 4th.
