West Perry extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-5. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Pennsboro Panthers. Even though they lost, the Mustangs' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
West Perry got a big performance out of Jada Swarner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was Swarner's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Addi Lupfer, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI.
As for East Pennsboro, their record now sits at 5-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 4, 2025.
On East Pennsboro's side, the team relied heavily on Chelsea Hoover, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Coleman, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Perry will face off against Greencastle-Antrim at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for East Pennsboro, they will challenge Camp Hill at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
