Volleyball Recap: Dilley Takes a Loss

Dilley lost against Hondo on October 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dilley Wolves came up short against the Hondo Owls, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Owls: they've now lost seven in a row.

Emily Crain paced Dilley's offense, picking up eight kills. Crain got some help from Mariana Urrea and her six assists. Finally, Carissa Moreno kept Dilley's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Carynn Jacobs had a dynamite game for Hondo, getting 13 kills and four aces. That's the most aces Jacobs has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Araceli Fernandez, who had ten digs.

Dilley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-20. As for Hondo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 30-8 record this season.
