Northwest Cabarrus posted their closest victory since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Carson Cougars 49-47. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Carson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rylee Hedrick went 7-for-13 en route to 19 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hedrick has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Burleson, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Northwest Cabarrus' win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Carson, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-18.

As of now, neither Northwest Cabarrus nor Carson have any future games scheduled.
