Football Game Preview: Lake View Chiefs/Maidens vs. Lampasas Badgers + How To Watch

The Lake View Chiefs/Maidens will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lampasas Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake View has given up an average of 32.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lake View is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Andrews just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The contest marked the Chiefs/Maidens' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lampasas, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in October. They came out on top against Marble Falls by a score of 23-16 two weeks ago. The Badgers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lampasas' win came from a few key players Lake View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was KJ Reed, who rushed for 176 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Lampasas also got a significant boost from Wesley Stephens, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 134 yards.

Lampasas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 375 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

One reason for the win was Lampasas' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Brayden Crook refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Corbin Kepler was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lampasas' record now sits at 8-2. As for Lake View, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
