Baseball Game Preview: Ambassador Christian School Lions vs. Grace Academy Lions

Ambassador Christian School will venture away from home to square off against Grace Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Ambassador Christian School duked it out with Carmel Christian last Tuesday. The Lions lost 12-3 to the Cougars. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jacson Taplin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Marek Romano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Grace Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Westminster Catawba Christian on Tuesday, taking the game 7-4. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Brayden Blinn looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Nowlin and Fletcher Owens did most of the damage at the plate: Nowlin got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Owens got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Nowlin has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Murphy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Grace Academy's record is now 13-9. As for Ambassador Christian School, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Ambassador Christian School might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Grace Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can Ambassador Christian School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
