Softball Recap: Pender Starts Season with Win at Home

Pender took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over the James Kenan Tigers. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Pender got a massive performance out of Charleigh Rivenbark, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Rivenbark has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Tozour, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Looking ahead, Pender will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for James Kenan, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Clinton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
