Northridge hasn't had much luck against Newark Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. Northridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Northridge lost 12-6 to Mt. Vernon on Wednesday. The loss was the Vikings' first of the season.

Riley Reeves was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kash Reeves, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Newark Catholic fell victim to Zanesville and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 1-0. Green Wave fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Blue Devils since on Wednesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Newark Catholic and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Northridge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Northridge might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Newark Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
