Basketball Recap: Canterbury Takes a Loss

After flying high against Naples Classical last Tuesday, Canterbury came back down to earth. The Canterbury Cougars were beaten by the Oasis Sharks 70-35 on Thursday. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-15.

Oasis was led to victory by Owen Skistad and Austin Louzao. Skistad went 6 of 11 en route to 18 points along with five boards and three steals, while Louzao posted 16 points and four steals. Louzao is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Llyod Baptiste, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points.

Canterbury's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Oasis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

Canterbury will take on Tournament Opponent on Tuesday. As for Oasis, they will face off against Cape Coral at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
