Basketball Recap: North Surry Comes Up Short

North Surry has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through a 65-37 loss at the hands of the North Wilkes Vikings. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-10.

Despite the defeat, North Surry saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mckinnley Sims went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and six boards. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Sims. Another player making a difference was Kaylyn Collins, who posted five points.

North Surry's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for North Wilkes, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

North Surry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 60-9 win against Wilkes Central on the 24th. As for North Wilkes, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-43 victory against East Surry on the 24th.
