Volleyball Recap: West Port Takes a Loss

West Port came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Buchholz Bobcats, falling 3-0. The Wolf Pack have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-16, 25-6.

Gaveena Smith paced West Port's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Eneidys Maysonet and her 17 assists. Finally, Smith was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

West Port's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Buchholz, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, West Port will challenge IMG Academy Black at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Buchholz, they will take on Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
