Mineral County owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They blew past the Owyhee Braves, posting a 30-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Serpents also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Chase Reeves had an outrageously good game as he threw for 104 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (151.7).

Mineral County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Robert Wilson and Christopher Orozco, who racked up four sacks between them.

The victory got Mineral County back to even at 1-1.

Mineral County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-12 win against Pyramid Lake on the 11th. As for Owyhee, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wells at 3:00 p.m. on the 18th.
