Recap: Tuslaw Mustangs vs. Canton Central Catholic Crusaders
The Tuslaw Mustangs came tearing into Wednesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Canton Central Catholic 58-41. Given Tuslaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Canton Central Catholic is ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tuslaw got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Rowbotham out in front who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rowbotham has scored all season. Destiny Dulkoski was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Tuslaw's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Canton Central Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuslaw will take on Canton South at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Canton South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday. As for Canton Central Catholic, they will be playing at home against Alliance at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
