Recap: Powdersville Patriots vs. Wren Hurricanes
If The Powdersville Patriots were riding high off their 57-0 takedown of the Southside Tigers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Powdersville fell just short of Wren by a score of 42-39. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Powdersville still got an impressive performance from Eli Hudgins, who threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns.
Wren was led to victory by Colten Bagwell and Reese Price. Bagwell rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, while Price rushed for 197 yards and four touchdowns. Price is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
Powdersville now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Wren, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.
Powdersville will head out on the road to face off against Palmetto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wren, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Belton-Honea Path at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Belton-Honea Path knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Wren likes a good challenge.
