Softball Recap: Baldwin Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Baldwin barely beat Bethel Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Highlanders blew past the Black Hawks 12-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Camryn Temme and Melina Defelice made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Temme tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Defelice didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At the plate, Temme went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Defelice went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gabriella Jaquay was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Ryley Shaw was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Baldwin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.

Baldwin's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bethel Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Baldwin has already played their next game, a 15-0 win against Albert Gallatin on the 28th. As for Bethel Park, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 defeat against Trinity on the 28th.
