Volleyball Recap: Westerly's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Westerly waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Woonsocket Villa Novans as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Villa Novans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaydel Dejesus, who had five digs and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Aaron Utley, who had eight kills, three digs, and one block.

Westerly's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. As for Woonsocket, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westerly will take on Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Woonsocket, they will host Pilgrim at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
