 Belleville East is 7-2 against Freeburg since May of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Belleville East Lancers will head out on the road to  square off against  the Freeburg Midgets at 4:30  p.m. Belleville East's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so Freeburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
 Last Friday, Belleville East sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  victory over Mt. Vernon.
 Belleville East got a big performance out of  Reid Neumayer, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Ty Reaka, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Freeburg was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They fell  5-2 to Alton.
 The  win  got Belleville East back to even at 6-6. As for Freeburg, they now  have a losing record at 6-7.
 Belleville East came out on top in a nail-biter against Freeburg  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, sneaking past  5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Belleville East since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
