Purdue Polytechnic hasn't had much luck against Heritage Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Techies will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Purdue Polytechnic's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
On Wednesday, Purdue Polytechnic made easy work of Indianapolis Washington and carried off a 19-1 win. Considering the Techies have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Moore and Justin Valdez did most of the damage at the plate: Moore got on base in all three of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs, while Valdez got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Valdez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Bailey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Purdue Polytechnic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .567 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian scored first but ultimately less than Covenant Christian in their matchup on Wednesday. They fell 15-12 to the Warriors. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Isaac Arterburn was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Jake Meriwether made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Isaac Marshall was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Purdue Polytechnic's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Purdue Polytechnic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. However, it's not like Heritage Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .387. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Purdue Polytechnic might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from Heritage Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Techies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
