Basketball Recap: South Shelby Victorious

South Shelby posted their closest victory since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Meadville Eagles 66-63. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Meadville lost, don't look at Donivan Schreckhise. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 9 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Reece Meyers, who posted 11 points and five boards.

South Shelby has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Meadville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

South Shelby will challenge Van-Far at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meadville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marceline at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
