Basketball Recap: Sugar Creek Charter Comes Up Short

Sugar Creek Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 54-23 loss at the hands of the Mountain Island Charter Raptors. The Wildcats were down 45-20 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Sugar Creek Charter saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eriyana Anthony posted 12 points. That was a full 52.2% of Sugar Creek Charter's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Infiniti Green, who scored two points and 11 rebounds.

Reagan Hart was the offensive standout of the matchup as she put up 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kayla Fudge, who had ten points.

Sugar Creek Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mountain Island Charter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Sugar Creek Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-22 defeat against Greater Cabarrus S on the 5th. As for Mountain Island Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-11 win against Valor Preparatory Academy on the 6th.
