The Sale Creek Panthers will face off against the Grundy County Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sale Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Sale Creek needed a bit of extra time to put away Whitwell. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Tigers since May 1, 2015.

Meanwhile, Grundy County suffered their closest loss since March 21, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Marion County by a score of 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Grundy County dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Sale Creek, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
