Basketball Recap: East Bay Takes a Loss

If East Bay was riding high fresh off their 68-18 takedown of Woodward last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The East Bay Indians fell just short of the McLean Highlanders by a score of 56-53 on Monday.

Despite the loss, East Bay still got an impressive performance from Nicholas Ghent, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 17 points. The dominant performance gave Ghent a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Curry Staples, who posted 11 points.

East Bay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for McLean, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

East Bay will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Riverview at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. East Bay is facing Riverview at the right time seeing as Riverview is stuck on a four-game losing streak. McLean will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Queen City Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
