Volleyball Game Preview: Saegertown Panthers vs. Corry Beavers

Saegertown is 2-8 against Corry since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Beavers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Saegertown took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Eisenhower. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 3-0).

While Saegertown won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 26-24, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Corry got the win against Northwestern on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-12.

Saegertown better keep an eye on Sydney Mineo. She was instrumental in Corry's win, getting eight digs and four aces. That's the most digs Mineo has posted over her last 12 matchups. Brynley Watrous was another key player, getting ten digs.

Saegertown's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-8-2. As for Corry, their record now sits at 31-1-5.
