Soccer Game Preview: Mt. St. Joseph Academy vs. West Rutland

Mt. St. Joseph Academy and West Rutland are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2019, but likely not for long. The Green Wave will host the Golden Horde at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Monday, Mt. St. Joseph Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Leland & Gray and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, West Rutland faced Arlington Memorial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Golden Horde never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that West Rutland have won by just one goal.

West Rutland's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
