Basketball Recap: Red Bluff Takes a Loss

Red Bluff suffered their closest defeat since December 5, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Orland Trojans by a score of 46-44. The Spartans lost against the Trojans in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-31 score last time.

Orland had a senior duo take command as Jayden Thompson went 8 of 16 en route to 20 points along with six steals and five boards and Preston Carlson went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave Thompson a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominick Bose, who posted ten points.

Red Bluff has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Orland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Red Bluff will take on Enterprise at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orland, they will square off against Central Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
