There was early excitement for New Kent after they claimed the first goal on Friday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell 3-1 to the Mechanicsville Mustangs. The loss continues a trend for New Kent in their meetings with Mechanicsville: they've now lost three in a row.

New Kent's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-3. As for Mechanicsville, they pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
