Softball Recap: Encinal Takes a Loss

Encinal lost against Cardinal Newman back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jets fell 4-1 to the Cardinals. The Jets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Encinal saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazzy Alcantar, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Encinal's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Cardinal Newman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Encinal will take on Bishop O'Dowd at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Cardinal Newman, they will square off against Rancho Cotate at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
