Soccer Recap: New Caney Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cleveland last Tuesday, New Caney came back down to earth. The New Caney Eagles lost 5-0 to the College Park Cavaliers on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 147th).

New Caney's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14-3. As for College Park, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season.

New Caney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for College Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Spring at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. College Park will be up against Spring's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.84 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
