Baseball Recap: Ridgeview Victorious

Ridgeview made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hoopeston, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs never let the Cornjerkers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Thursday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 13-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ben Crowley was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Owen Grice was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Ridgeview back to even at 2-2-1. As for Hoopeston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Ridgeview and Hoopeston will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will square off against rival Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hoopeston is set to take on their familiar foe Milford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
