Basketball Recap: Wartburg Central Comes Up Short

Wartburg Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Oliver Springs Bobcats, falling 63-38. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 55-53.

Gavin Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Oliver Springs, going 8 of 19 en route to 26 points. Johnson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Jones, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Wartburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Oliver Springs, they moved to 10-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Wartburg Central has already played their next contest (against Coalfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Oliver Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-54 loss against Harriman on the 30th.
