Softball Recap: Virginia City Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Virginia City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Non Varsity Opponent on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Muckers: when they faced off against Non Varsity Opponent last Saturday, they had to take a 23-13 loss.

Nanna Lopez was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. Riley Draper was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Virginia City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Virginia City's record now sits at 3-1-1.

Looking ahead, Virginia City will face off against South Tahoe at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Virginia City knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully South Tahoe likes a good challenge. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will square off against Virginia City at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
