Softball Recap: Clewiston Takes a Loss

The matchup between Clewiston and Moore Haven on Thursday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Clewiston Tigers came up short against the Moore Haven Terriers, falling 18-3. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Terriers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Clewiston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Salia Brathwaite, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was Brathwaite's first of the season.

Clewiston's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Moore Haven, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clewiston will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Placid at 7:30 p.m. on March 31st. As for Moore Haven, they will take on Sebring at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Moore Haven will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
