Volleyball Recap: Beyer Patriots vs. Lathrop Spartans

After flying high against Ceres last Wednesday, Beyer came back down to earth. The Beyer Patriots lost 3-0 to the Lathrop Spartans on Monday. Considering the last time the Patriots couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-19.

Leading Lathrop to victory were Ayden Petroff and Justine Mabutas. Petroff had six aces and a block, while Mabutas had 19 digs. Petroff is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Beyer's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Lathrop, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Beyer will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Johansen at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Beyer's favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Johansen has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. As for Lathrop, they will head out to take on Pacheco at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
