Softball Game Preview: Harpeth Indians vs. Cheatham County Central Cubs

Harpeth hasn't had much luck against Cheatham County Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Cubs at 6:00 p.m.

Last Wednesday, Harpeth and Franklin finished up their match with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Cheatham County Central waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Flyers.

Haylee Dowlen looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kayleah Shadowens was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Titus, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Cheatham County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in four consecutive games.

Harpeth's tie gives them a new season record of 2-4-1. As for Cheatham County Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
