Soccer Recap: Brownwood Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Brownwood managed to keep up with Fredericksburg until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Brownwood Lions came up short against the Fredericksburg Billies, falling 5-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Billies: they've now lost three in a row.

Brownwood's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Fredericksburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brownwood will venture away from home to square off against Lampasas at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fredericksburg, they will head out on the road to take on Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Fredericksburg knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Canyon Lake likes a good challenge.
