While Shenango put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for New Brighton. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 16-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
Kennedi Lynn made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Zoe Offie was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Herb was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Shenango was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Shenango now has a winning record of 8-7. As for New Brighton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-8 record.
Coincidentally, Shenango and New Brighton will both be playing Neshannock the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
