Preview: Bartram Trail vs. East Ridge
East Ridge (7-3) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. This Friday it takes on Bartram Trail (7-3) in the first playoff game of the year. East Ridge has seen its point totals steadily rise over the past three games, a trend the team will no doubt hope to continue.
Last week, East Ridge took on South Lake. East Ridge's defense took a beating in the first half, giving up 28 points. That put it down 28 - 24. Thankfully, the offense came through for it, scoring 28 in the second half. The game ended up being a comfortable 52 - 35 victory for it.
As for Bartram Trail, it can now show off five landslide victories after its most recent game. It dominated last week, steamrollering Nease 56 - 21. Bartram Trail is ranked 148th in the MaxPreps nationional rankings (many places ahead of Nease), so the decisive victory wasn't entirely unexpected.
Of course, East Ridge and Bartram Trail can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
