Angleton is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Friendswood 5-4.

Bella Nava looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lily Calderon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Alyssa Orozco also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Texas City lost 14-4 to Santa Fe on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Stingarees have lost by exactly ten runs.

Angleton pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Texas City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7-1 record this season.

Everything went Angleton's way against Texas City in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Angleton made off with a 7-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Angleton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
