Basketball Game Preview: Minden Whippets vs. Wood River Eagles

Minden and Wood River are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Minden Whippets will square off against the Wood River Eagles at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Minden came up short against Adams Central and fell 56-43. The Whippets haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last nine times they've met.

Meanwhile, Wood River was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 57-56 to Doniphan-Trumbull.

Minden's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Wood River, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Minden strolled past Wood River in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 63-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Minden since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
