Baseball Recap: Blackhawk Gets the Win

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Blackhawk nor North Catholic made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cougars walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Trojans. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Elijah White tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carter Davis was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luca Dilonardo, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Blackhawk's record now sits at 10-4. As for North Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Blackhawk will have a chance to go back-to-back against North Catholic: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
