Rush City came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Milaca Wolves a 7-0 shutout. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Kendal Pillar made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lola Mold was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Rush City pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Milaca, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Rush City will take on Braham at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Milaca, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-4 win against Little Falls on the 22nd.
