Softball Game Preview: Aurora Christian Eagles vs. Harvest Christian Academy Lions

The Aurora Christian Eagles will head out to challenge the Harvest Christian Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aurora Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Marian Central Catholic hit Aurora Christian with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 11-1 to the Hurricanes.

Aurora Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jada Vizcaya, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Harvest Christian Academy took on Wheeling on Saturday. The Lions came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 15-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Makayla Richards was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Haley Miller was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Harvest Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Harvest Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Aurora Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Aurora Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harvest Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Aurora Christian skirted past Harvest Christian Academy 6-4 when the teams last played on Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
