Softball Recap: Shelbyville's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Shelbyville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Joaquin Rams. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cadee Harley and Nicole Harvey did some serious damage despite the final result: Harley went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI, while Harvey went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Harvey has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Snell, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one double.

Shelbyville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Joaquin, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Shelbyville and Joaquin should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Shelbyville will challenge Martinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday up 669 places (438 vs. 1107). Meanwhile, Joaquin (ranked 203rd) will meet Garrison (ranked 1090th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
