Basketball Game Preview: Gladstone Braves vs. Westwood Patriots

The Gladstone Braves will venture away from home to face off against the Westwood Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Gladstone had to suffer through a 78-39 loss at the hands of Menominee. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Maroons recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, Westwood had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They blew past the Copper Kings 76-31. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Copper Kings are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westwood pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Gladstone, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Gladstone was taken down by Westwood 73-44 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Gladstone avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
