Softball Recap: Lawrence Academy Now 13-2 over Last 15 Games

It's playoff time, and Lawrence Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Halifax Academy Vikings 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Clair Ferebee spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Claire Smith was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lawrence Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Halifax Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12-1.

As of now, neither Lawrence Academy nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
