Volleyball Recap: Yorkville Christian Comes Up Short

Yorkville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harvest-Westminster Warrior-Lions. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warrior-Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

While Yorkville Christian had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18.

Harvest-Westminster found their leader in sophomore Amelia Herther, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Yorkville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-15-2. As for Harvest-Westminster, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Yorkville Christian will challenge Coal City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harvest-Westminster, they will take on Marian Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
