Volleyball Recap: Springfield Southeast Spartans vs. Lincoln Railsplitters
Springfield Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Lincoln Railsplitters. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14.
Lindsay Auguis paced Springfield Southeast's offense, picking up three kills. Auguis got some help from Parker Maxey and her six assists. Auguis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Lauren Tedrick had an outrageously good game for Lincoln as she had seven aces and three digs. That's the most aces Tedrick has posted since back in August.
Springfield Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 6-21. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 16-14.
Looking ahead, Springfield Southeast is taking a road trip to challenge Lanphier at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Bloomington on the 23rd.
