The Fairfield Prep Jesuits will venture away from home to face off against the Hillhouse Academics at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Fairfield Prep proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 14) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Shelton, sneaking past 5-3. While the Jesuits didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cooper Rotondo was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double. Vinny Lombardo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Hillhouse had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Wilbur Cross on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Academics have posted since April 24, 2024.

Fairfield Prep's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Hillhouse, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Everything went Fairfield Prep's way against Hillhouse in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Fairfield Prep made off with a 10-2 victory. Will the Jesuits repeat their success, or do the Academics have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
